A Flash From The Past

As I sit here on my chair, I remember a story from the past and it has struck a profound thought in  my heart.

Sometime ago in 2017, I took a 16-hour trip by road from Delta State to Sokoto State, Nigeria. That was my fourth time taking the trip, so I was kinda used to the drill. This time around though, the journey took longer than usual.

The car broke down at some point and when it was finally fixed, we had other delays along the way. We had spent almost 20 hours on the road, my legs were swollen, and I was just exhausted generally. I even cried at some point because I started reminiscing about the last time I took that same trip with my late brother the previous year.

One thing I didn’t do was to think for a moment, that I won’t get to my destination. I knew that even though my legs were hurting, and my body was aching, as long as the driver remained on the right route, we would get to Sokoto… And we did. It took longer, but we got there.

Sometimes in your life, you may be tempted to think about your journey and the phase you’re in. You may think about the delays you may have experienced. Your feet might be swollen (Not literally) from your journey and your heart might be aching…But Hey!

God is behind the steering wheel. As long as you stay in Him, you’ll get to your destination. God said in His word “For I know the thoughts I think towards you. Thoughts of good and not of evil to bring you to an expected end.”

You’ll fulfill your destiny in God. Just stay on the path.

God bless you.
