It was a cool morning on a certain day of a certain month in 2020. I was sitting with a pen and some sticky notes. I had just caught an understanding of something I had always known but never really put to work/Test.
I had read books about it. Watched countless videos about it, seen people(both Christians and non-Christians) give lengthy and detailed testimonials about it. It was my turn to try it out(after all, it wouldn’t hurt anyone if I did).
It took a while, but carefully, I wrote down in great detail a list of things I wanted to have in my life. I knew they already existed and that they were in line with God’s perfect will for my life.
Some of the things I wrote on the list were somewhat outrageous (I mean at the time I had no physical means to get/attain them, but I wrote them down anyway). When I was done writing, I stuck the small notes containing my lists to the side of my room wall that I looked at often. Then it began.
Every morning when I woke up, I would look at the list and start creating pictures in my mind of each item I had written. For instance, if on one list I wrote that I wanted to own a ‘Black Toyota Camry’, I would close my eyes and imagine myself driving the car.
Throughout the day, I would hold the picture of the item I wanted in my heart, and cause myself to experience the feeling of having accomplished it. Then at night, it would be the last thing I thought about before falling asleep. I did this consciously for weeks.
In a way that I cannot explain, things started aligning slowly. Gradually, I started getting the things I had written down. I didn’t pay much attention to this because I had gotten used to feeling like I already had them. It was not until the most outrageous thing I had written down started to manifest that I realized that I was doing what the Creator intended; I had begun SEEING things that be not as though they were. To be honest, it felt like magic.
The whole universe was spun into being by “A Constant”- The word of God. And in a way, everything was deposited into the heart/mind of man.
The scriptures say ‘God hath set eternity in their hearts’[Ecclesiastes 3:11]. Your mind is one of the greatest machines ever created. God made it so. That is why He says ‘Guard your heart with all diligence for it(your heart) is the source of life. You are a creator and you can through the visions of your heart create matter out of your thoughts.
This I think is the secret behind the placebo effect.
What is the placebo effect?
Let me give an example. A placebo effect can happen when a doctor gives a sick patient a pill made out of just sugar. The doctor would then use words to convince the patient for instance, that it is the best drug in the world for that sickness. If the patient by any chance believes the doctor and starts taking the drug believing in his mind that it will cure his sickness, somehow after a while the patient can start feeling better even though the drug is made out of mere sugar. In this case, it is not the drug that cured the patient(obviously the drug is worthless). It is the belief in his mind that the drug would cure him.
What do you want in your life?
Start by writing it down.
Be specific. Don’t just write ‘I want a car’. Write the make of the car you want, the model, and every detail that will help you create a picture of that car in your mind.
Then start visualizing. Visualize like a child. Start living in that imagination. See yourself driving the car. Do it for a long time. Long enough until you are convinced that you have it. don’t vacillate. This is what the Scriptures mean by Faith; the evidence of things not seen.
Try it. Do it for as long as it takes. It doesn’t hurt anyone when you visualize. You will see the results. You are the CREATOR and your mind is the machine. Use it.
It is currently 2:16 AM. It’s time to fall asleep. Guess what I’ll be doing as I close my eyes? You guessed right. Visualizing something I want to see manifested of course and probably having a midnight snack. LOL.
